The surrounding area for Carno House Bed and Breakfast:
Aberaeron is a charming Georgian harbour town with friendly
people, "One of the best examples of a planned township of small scale in Wales ... Praised in the national press for its laid back atmosphere and crime free environment as well as for its superb leisure facilities".

The coastal road has breathtaking views over the beautiful sweep of
Cardigan Bay. On a regular bus route, south to the market town of Cardigan and North to the larger University town of Aberystwyth where you can take the narrow gauge railway which climbs the lovely Rheidol Valley to Devil's Bridge passing through Red Kite country. A short drive away are the lovely beaches of Newquay, Llangrangog and Mwnt, with its 12th Century Church.
Equally impressive are the many walks, the Heritage coast path, the riverside with its four weirs that once served the local mill, the old railway line following the River Aeron to the John Nash designed mansion and gardens at Llanerchaeron. Gardeners can also enjoy the Georgian walled garden at Pigeonsford, and, further afield, the restored Aberglasney and National Botanic Gardens at Llanarthne.

There is fishing, golf courses within easy reach and boat trips along the coast to see wildlife including the resident population of Harbour Porpoises, Atlantic Grey Seals and Bottlenose Dolphins. Attractively restored stone farm buildings house a Craft Centre. Local highlights are the Aberaeron Seafood Festival in July, and during August the Welsh Pony and Cob Festival with the popular Carnival and marching Jazz Band on Bank Holiday.
